July

July

Okay lots and lots of pictures because we had lots and lots of fun. This is how our July went....

Swimming

It started with the sun of course.... and some water.... because it's summer!!! We love summer!

The Hendrickson's were sooooooo nice this year to let us use their pool whenever we wanted! (They are nice all the time. I kinda made it sound like they were only nice THIS summer! ha ha ha)

Stockton had to be watched at all times or he'd jump right in without supervision! Shaden was a little more timid this year. Mostly, he just sat on the steps or on a lounge with Grandma, but we finally got him swimming!

Then there was more sun and more water..... because we love it!

We spent time on the lake and beach with our family!

Stocky loved playing with his cousins. He has lots of cousins on the Colemere side. Ashley is a little older but we all adore her. Conner, Brooklyn and Ava are all his age! So fun....

The boat was fun! It always put little Stocky to sleep! We had a blast! Thanks for sharing Rob, Kristina and Grandpa! Shaden was even brave enough to do the tube! He would tell Grandpa to "go sowey, berry berry sowey!" (slowly, very very slowly)

Happy 4th of July!
We walked over to the parade in West Jordan. Shaden LOVED it. He thought it was all very cool.
Papa and Grandma spoiled the boys! Even though there was PLENTY of candy being thrown... they purchased candy leis for them too! Stockton gets so excited to see Papa and Uncle Spencer!

Last but not least, we went swimming and had pizza at Hendrickson's house! It was fun to play in the pool and they have an AWESOME view of fireworks all over the valley from their backyard! What a fun 4th of July!

Then it was time for the LEWIS FAMILY REUNION
We took a ride to Junction, Utah... that's right folks.... passing the beautiful lavendar fields in Juab County.... and on to Piute County!
My aunt rented out this big, old courthouse. It was pretty cool. The whole family fit inside! Plus, we had the "whole darn place to ourselves!" My dad has 5 brothers, and 2 sisters. We have a TON of cousins. It was a blast!
My sister, Jayna, immediately decided that the old courthouse was haunted. We all decided to go along with it. Partly because she might have been right and partly because it's fun to make her squeal. She was seriously so scared!
Okay, so there were scary pictures with eyes that seemed to follow you, a creaky old gate, lots of rooms and spooky windows, old safes and even a jail.

So of course.... the men did what all men would do.... they shoved her in the old safes....and devised plans to sneak dad out at night, dressed in a bathrobe and cowboy hat. Meanwhile, Uncle Mont tells Jayna a story about an old, crazy, dead Piute County Sherrif, who roams the town at night in his bathrobe and cowboy hat. What the ????

So then, Jayna's hanging out with the cousins... and what does she see lurking in the shadows??? THE CRAZY PIUTE COUNTY SHERRIF! I think she almost peed her pants! Then, as if that wasn't enough, after she goes to bed that night... Mont dresses up in this little get-up with the bull head and slowly walks into her dark room and stands over her bed. (It really was pretty freaky when you saw him in the dark) Needless to say, Jayna FELL out of her bed, screaming! Classic.
Then it was off to see who else they could scare. Sam slept through it, Nick, Xanni, Britt and Sarah thought he was lame but atleast Tommy was laughing! Okay, so enough with the haunted mansion....
We spent the rest of the time hanging out, playing games and having fun.

We are so happy to have our Grandpa and Grandma in good health. They are both so active, loving and fun to be around. We are truly blessed!
The next day, we went 4 wheeling on some cool Piute county trails. Even Grandpa and Grandma cruised up the mountain!
The boys loved it. Shaden rode with Papa and Grandma and Stocky had his first 4 wheeling adventure. He made it about half way and then fell asleep. We kept right on going though. It was so much fun.
Jayna and Britt's dirty 4 wheeling faces.
One of the trails took us to this old log cabin that belonged to a miner and his wife. So crazy that they lived in the middle of nowhere like that. The cabin was pretty rad. It made you wonder what their life was like. There was a little plaque inside that told a little about their life. It said that they were married in the temple. Pretty cool.

There was still an old mining cave nearby and old mining tracks for the mining cars.

Mont, Branson and Jayna checking out the cave.
Watch out for the LEWIS TRAIN! (cheese)
That would be Branson and Jayna laying on the tracks!

Stocky and Me enjoying the courthouse! What a little stud.
My Dad's fam
Back: Ben, Don, Mont and Tim
Front: Tyler, DeNise, Valree, Grandma, Grandpa and my dad (Chad)
The cousins without spouses

Shorty Jayna and our TALL cousins. Sam is in high school and Skyler is in middle school and they are both huge! Eat your hearts out ladies...
Mom thought the library was super cool. So did the kids. They thought it was like "Beauty and the Beast."
Shaden was of course, DANCING. Jayna's ipod, hooked up to speakers outside, provided the whole family with pure entertainment. He cracks me up! (You can tell by his face, that this was some SERIOUS dancing.)

So one day, we are taking a stroll through Junction and this dog follows us back to the courthouse. Aunt Nise immediately fell in love with him. We fed him, bathed him and named him Junction. Mike told her that if she could get the dog to stay in the basket while she rode the bike around, she could take it home. We were laughing so hard.... so hard that Mike fell over in his chair. (Maybe you had to be there.) Unfortunately, the farmers who owned him, came looking. The poor dog didn't even have a name. They said he was just a working dog. We think the dog would have been happier with us! :)

Random pics of fun in JunctionThe fun came to an end and we all headed for home! Thanks for a fun trip Uncle Tim and Aunt Enid! We truly had a blast!

One Summer Morning...
Does this ever happen to anyone else? You wake up in the morning only to find the whole family all in one bed?!!! Yikes!
The cute part was when Shaden woke up and whispered, "Mommy, look!" I rolled over to find that Stockton had curled up on Shaden's chest to go to sleep! I thought it was very sweet and apparently Shaden did too!
Dance Dance Dance
Did I mention that Shaden LOVES to get his groove on? This kid lives for dancing. We went to Jordan Landing one summer evening with my family and there was a live band. There was also a huge audience, but Shaden didn't care. He just got out there and busted a move! It was so funny. He stole the show and strangers were laughing, clapping and commenting. Even the band had something to say about our little performer.
And alas; he has taught his little brother....

This video is Stocky... learning the moves from big brother.

This video is a little pole dancing.... Toddler Style! ha ha Check out Stocky's WEIRD crawl. I'm getting the feeling that my boys have music in their souls!

This video is Shaden up dancing right in front of the band. It's really dark so sorry. It doesn't do him justice.
Me and Bry, my dad and mom and Jod and Spencer.... watching the little groovers!

This is the Place Monument
Bryan was volunteering at "This is the Place" for something and so me and Jod took the boys up. It was fun but it was hot and poor Jodie was dying. It was a lot of walking ... and did I mention it was hot!?! C'mon Baby Lucy..... one more month!!!
We really did have fun. They had balloons, train rides, crafts, games, horses and popsicles and it was all for free!

Pioneer Day

On the 24th, we spent the evening at Copperton Park and then Jodie, Spencer and Daddy delighted Shaden with some Sparkler fun. He was sooooo excited!
Sunflowers
Shaden and Daddy planted Sunflowers in our vegetable garden this year! They were HUGE by the end of the summer and Shaden was so PROUD of them!
